NCUA Rolls Out New Consumer Site to Promote Savings

The National Credit Union Administration has developed a new consumer website explains the mission of credit unions and provides tips on saving money.

The site, called MyCreditUnion.gov, displays interactive infographics in an effort to educate consumers about how to assess their personal financial situations and better manage their money.

"Educating consumers about saving is a fundamental mission of credit unions and a key part of NCUA's job," NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz said in a news release.

The NCUA introduced the consumer site this week to coincide with America Saves and Military Saves Week. The NCUA has encouraged credit unions to promote automatic savings deposit accounts to their members, as well as financial counseling and no-fee savings accounts.
