Chief among those steps is a new website, which is set to launch on Jan. 1, 2014, the same day the league officially begins its business. The CCUL has also set up profiles on Facebook (facebook.com/carolinasleague) and Twitter (@TheCCUL).

According to a statement released by CCUL, the new website was built on the same platform as the South Carolina league's website, and is intended to highlight some of the services that league members value most, including advocacy services, compliance, professional development and more.

"We heard clearly that credit unions want their league to be a unifying influence and a champion of cooperation, and the Community section [of the website] will empower them to connect and collaborate," said Brandon Pugh, a member of CCUL's communication team. "We're excited about this section and its potential as more members create profiles, and for other site features everyone will soon appreciate."

The league also posted a video introducing itself on YouTube.
