BNY Mellon Promotes Suresh Kumar to CIO

BNY Mellon (BK) has named Suresh Kumar as its chief information officer, effective immediately. Currently CIO for the company's Financial Markets and Treasury Services businesses, as well as its Pershing LLC unit, Kumar is a member of the company's global Operating Committee and reports to Kurt D. Woetzel, BNY Mellon's head of global operations and technology, and also its chief administrative officer. Kumar, 54, joined the company in 1986 and in this new position will oversee the implementation of technology strategy, application development and technology infrastructure.

Suresh was the chief architect of Pershing's open-architecture technology platform NetX360. He also was key to establishing iNautix Technologies India Private Limited, a technology affiliate of BNY Mellon that provides development services. Suresh will continue to serve as chief executive officer of iNautix.

Prior to joining the company, he was CIO of CSFBdirect and DLJdirect. He earned a bachelor's degree in technology from the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras, a master's degree in business administration from the Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad and a master's degree in computer science from the New York Institute of Technology.
