Centier Bank in Whiting, Ind., is giving its customers access to an online database of community services.
The $2.2 billion-asset bank has partnered with MortgageKeeper Referral Services to provide its customers and employees with access to MortgageKeeper's database of nonprofit and government resources, the companies announced Tuesday. The MKDesktop and MKDirect products provide information on more than 7,000 service providers, and allow the bank's customer-service representatives to create customized summaries of the local assistance available in each customer's area.
Through the MortgageKeeper database, users can type in their ZIP code and choose from 20 assistance categories, such as job training or medical services. Centier Bank is the first subscriber to make the service available to both its customers and its employees, MortgageKeeper said in the news release.
"Centier Bank is excited to be the first bank in Indiana to feature this service," said Mike Schrage, Centier Bank's chief executive, in the news release. "As a community bank, our goal is to inform, educate, and empower our clients, as well as our employees, so that they make better financial decisions.
