The credit union service bureau PSCU Financial Services Inc. has agreed to use business-to-business payments management software from Sterling Commerce.
Sterling, a Denver unit of the telecom provider AT&T Inc., said Monday that PSCU, of St. Petersburg, Fla., would use its Gentran Integration Suite to automate the handling of credit and bill payments for corporate users on behalf of its credit union clients.
PSCU provides payments processing and other services to more than 500 credit unions, and said that the Sterling software would give it greater visibility and enable faster handling of exception items, without requiring a major overhaul of its existing systems.
Richard Ledbetter, PSCU's chief information officer, said the service bureau has several siloed file-transfer systems, and "needed a centralized solution that securely and rapidly delivered sensitive data files optimally, and in a variety of file formats and protocols across geographies."
