The Denver processor First Data Corp. has agreed to buy the Sao Paulo processing service company Check Forte Processamento de Dados Ltda.

First Data did not say how much it would pay.
Check Forte provides data capture, terminal management, and network processing services for bill payments initiated at merchant locations.
Buying Check Forte "will allow us to further expand our existing presence in Brazil and provide a robust product and service offering to our clients in the country," Peter Harrington, the president of Latin America and Canada for First Data's international division, said in a press release.
The deal, announced Wednesday, is expected to close this quarter.
