Fiserv Inc. of Brookfield, Wis., has agreed to integrate biometric authentication software from BioPassword Inc. of Issaquah, Wash., into some of its front-office applications.

The deal was announced Monday. BioPassword said Fiserv will use the software to add multifactor authentication capabilities to its Fiserv CBS Worldwide's CBS Desktop, CBS Teller, and Fiserv Aperio applications.
BioPassword's technology uses keystroke biometrics to evaluate a user's typing rhythms. It also uses nonbiometric authentication measures such as challenge questions and sending one-time passwords to a mobile device.
Fiserv said using the technology would help reduce fraud without inconveniencing users.
