POTTSTOWN, Pa. - BankZip.com Inc., which sells services to community banks, is providing brokerage through a recently formed partnership with DLJdirect Inc.
The Jersey City unit of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette provides trading, research, and stock quotes to customers of BankZip.com's seven community bank affiliates.
The service is currently available through a link on the Web site of BankZip.com's founder, Patriot Bank. The other community banks' sites will have links to a cobranded trading site within a month, said executive vice president Jeff Waldron.
DLJdirect pays a referral fee to BankZip.com, which shares it with the referring bank, Mr. Waldron said. BankZip.com declined to say what the fees are.
BankZip.com expects to announce similar arrangements with insurance and mortgage providers in the next few weeks.
