HARTFORD, CONN. - Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. will begin selling variable annuities in Japan through a joint venture with Nikko Securities Co.
Nikko, the second-largest securities firm in Japan by assets under management, will begin selling the Hartford NK variable annuity today through its 117 branches.
Hartford Life Insurance KK was granted a life insurance license from Japan's Financial Reconstruction Commission on Tuesday. The company has not previously sold variable annuities there.
