MILWAUKEE - Metavante Corp. said last week that it had won a contract from United Airlines Employees' Credit Union to provide electronic bill payment and presentment services to the financial institution's 165,000 members.
When the service goes live next month, members of the credit union - all of whom are United employees, retirees, affiliate employees, and their family members - will be able to go to the financial institution's Web site to view and pay all their bills.
The credit union, the country's fifth-largest, said it plans to offer two levels of services: electronic bill payment, which will let members pay any person or vendor within the United States, and total bill management, which will also include online presentment.
"This is extremely important for many of our members whose jobs require them to travel extensively," said Ken Pederson, the credit union's manager of e-commerce services. "For example, a UAECU member, such as a pilot or flight attendant, will now have the convenience of viewing and paying all their bills by simply obtaining an Internet connection from anywhere in the world."
Metavante is a subsidiary of Marshall & Illsley Corp.
