MB Financial Bank has extended its contract to use bill payment services from Online Resources Corp. and agreed to use its online banking software.
The Chantilly, Va., banking technology vendor announced the multiyear contract with the Chicago unit of MB Financial Inc. on Thursday.
MB Financial Bank is expected to shift its online banking site next year to Online Resources' hosted Command Internet Banking application. The bank also will use Online Resources' online account-opening software and will offer the vendor's personal financial management application Money HQ to its customers.
In addition, the bank is planning to switch its bill payment service from Online Resources' remittance application to its PayAnyone service. The change is expected to improve customer service by giving users access to Online Resources service representatives, real-time validation of payee data, and direct electronic links to billers.
"Larger regional banks like MB Financial demand highly integrated online services," Ronald J. Bergamesca, an executive vice president and Online Resources' general manager for community banking services, said in a press release. His company will be "serving as their single point of accountability for their Internet channel."
