Open Solutions Inc. has agreed to offer scanners from Panini North America Inc. with its imaging applications.
The Glastonbury, Conn., banking technology vendor announced the reselling agreement last week. It plans to offer its bank clients Panini's Vision X scanners within its branch imaging and remote capture applications, IseDeposit and IsBranch.
Open Solutions also announced last month that Metropolitan Bank in Oakland, Calif., had agreed to use its check processing applications to create and process check images.
The $135 million-asset banking company said that the Federal Reserve Board's continuing cutbacks in check processing sites prompted it to shift to imaging.
The Fed said last month that by next year it plans to have only one paper-check processing center, in Cleveland.
"With the San Francisco check processing site soon to close, it was imperative for Metropolitan Bank to find a cost-effective means of processing checks," Stella Kong, the bank's vice president-controller, said in an Open Solutions press release.
