The Dutch banking company Rabobank Group has renewed an outsourcing agreement with the Blue Bell, Pa., financial technology provider Unisys Corp.
The two-year renewal, announced Wednesday, will run through the end of 2012 and covers all of Rabobank's "paper-related payment transactions," Unisys said.
Its payment services and solutions unit handles Rabobank's money transfer forms and giro payments, which are similar to paper checks.
Rob Fopma, a managing director with the Unisys payment services and solutions unit, said in a press release that his company can "help financial institutions better manage payments and more easily plan for the impact of global e-payments trends and initiatives," including the Single Euro Payment Area initiative expected to create a continent-wide payments zone.
