The Malvern, Pa., payment technology vendor USA Technologies Inc. has installed its card readers in 1,000 self-serve photo booths operated by Foto Fantasy Inc. of Hudson, N.H.
USA Technologies announced the agreement last week. The readers allow people to use contactless cards and magnetic stripe cards at the booths.
Foto Fantasy, which uses the Fantasy Entertainment brand, expects to install the readers in another thousand booths in the next 18 months.
Dale Valvo, Foto Fantasy's president, said in a USA Technologies press release that the readers have boosted usage. "Many customers are making multiple purchases with their credit and debit cards, sometimes as many as five purchases."
USA Technologies also said last week that its net loss in its last fiscal year, which ended June 30, grew 20% from the previous year, to nearly $17.8 million, but revenue rose 43%, to $9.2 million.
The vendor credited increased sales and a partnership with MasterCard Inc. which is promoting its contactless products.
