SVPCO Volume Surged Again in July

The number of items carried on The Clearing House Payments Co. LLC's SVPCO Image Payment Network last month more than quadrupled from a year earlier, to 245 million.

The dollar value of items carried on the network rose 159%, to $436.7 billion, the New York company said Wednesday.

The average number of images carried per day rose 12% from June, to 11.6 million. The busiest day was July 2, when 16.4 million items worth $31.6 billion were delivered.

Volume carried by the Federal Reserve banks on the network increased 30% from June, to 48.1 million images.

Marshall & Ilsley Corp.'s M&I Bank started using SVPCO last month. Twenty-two banks and credit unions use it to deliver check images for settlement.
