Wincor Nixdorf AG said Thursday that Synovus Financial Corp. of Columbus, Ga. has chosen the technology company's hardware to upgrade Synovus' fleet of automated teller machines.

The Paderborn, Germany ATM maker says Synovus will be using Wincor Nixdorf's CINEO Intelligent Deposit devices, along with various software enhancements, to bring the retail bank's 200 ATMs up to date.
"This upgrade signals another important step in our efforts to provide... technology [that] also gives us the flexibility to develop additional ways for our ATMs to deliver a more intuitive and consistent customer experience," says Kessel Stelling, Synovus' chief executive and chairman.
