A Toronto-Dominion Bank unit has developed a debt-tracking tool for users of the social networking Web site FaceBook.com.
Split It allows users to track the portions of common expenses for which they are responsible. For example, roommates could use it to track who has paid their share of routine household expenses.
The application was introduced this month by TD Canada Trust. The banking blog Netbanker said in a posting last week that with Split It, the banking company has "managed to strike a balance of being true to their brand, yet not seem like they're pandering to a youthful audience, and offering something of value to the Net Generation."
