Chase Paymentech Europe, a merchant acquiring and processing subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase, has introduced a new service designed to lighten the security burden for European online merchants.
The company's Dynamic Hosted Payments Page enables merchants to submit a digital payment transaction without storing, processing or transmitting cardholder payment data. Instead, online shoppers are directed to a Chase Paymentech page for final processing. Once the transaction is complete, the customer is returned to the merchant's shopping cart application where the order status is updated.
Since the merchant does not store this sensitive data, it is not responsible for adhering to storage or acceptance guidance under the Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standards. The PCI Security Standards Council recently released
"Creating a secure, seamless and compliant payment experience should not be a daunting task," said Shane Fitzpatrick, president and managing director for Chase Paymentech Europe, in a release. "With the Dynamic Hosted Payments Page, Chase Paymentech makes it easy for European merchants to protect customers' payment account data and provide a payment experience that instills confidence while helping to meet payment compliance standards."
The Dynamic Hosted Payments Page uses the merchant's own branding, and is offered as part of the Orbital Payment Gateway, Chase Paymentech's Internet payment processing engine. The gateway's services also include customer profile management, account updating, authentication and fraud prevention tools.
