PayEase, a merchant acquiring firm based in China, has begun offering online payment services in Taiwan through a partnership with the e-commerce company OnePaid.
Under the agreement, PayEase will enable UnionPay cardholders in mainland China to purchase goods from Taiwanese merchants.
Additionally, OnePaid will provide online payment processing services to Taiwanese merchants. The company's platform provides transaction details such as order status, shipment address and digital alerts.
"This partnership will combine our strengths and bring more convenient, safer payment services to merchants and consumers on the mainland and in Taiwan," said Kino Kwok, a general manager at PayEase, in a Feb. 2 press release.
OnePaid is a division of Gangu Tech, a digital commerce company based in Taiwan.
