Doha Bank Ltd. is looking to increase its credit card base by at least a quarter this summer holiday season by offering new and existing cardholders an unprecedented 25% cash-back reward on their card spending on travel, an official from the Qatar-based bank tells PaymentsSource.
The offer is open to new customers who receive Dream, Green and Dream Platinum cards, and to all its existing card members, he says.
“Cardholders will get the cash back credited to their accounts at the end of the promotional period,” the official adds. The promotion began on June 4 and will end Aug. 28.
Cardholders will get a 25% discount on all travel-related expenses, including purchases of tickets on any airline, holiday packages, hotels and motels, and car rentals.
All new cardholders will be eligible for a premium mobile number from mobile operator Vodafone worth up to 5,000 rials (US$1,372 or 1,121euros), he adds.
Established in 1979, Doha is the largest private commercial bank in Qatar and has more than 100,000 credit cardholders, according to the official. It issues Visa, MasterCard and American Express cards.
