Visa Inc. is publishing a list of ATM independent sales organizations, merchant-service ISOs, prepaid ISOs and point-of-sale ISOs to manage risk in the payment system, Eduardo Perez, head of Payment System Risk, wrote in an e-mail message to ATM&Debit News, a CardLine sister publication. "Visa requires financial institutions to register their third-party agents with Visa," Perez says. "Registration ensures third parties' agents are performing the necessary due diligence, including periodic financial audits and background checks." Visa published the 44-page "List of Registered Independent Sales Organizations" last week (CardLine, 6/24). Visa employees were compiling the list when they met in November with representatives of the National Association of ATM ISOs & Operators, a two-year-old trade organization chartered in Marietta, Ga.
