HONOLULU – A local Hawaiian priest on Monday performed the blessing at the opening ceremonies of Aloha Pacific FCU’s newest branch, the credit union’s ninth.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The management and boards of 10 small credit unions that serve the Missouri Department of Transportation’s 10 districts will have to look for new facilities after a budget-cutting move by the state expelled them from their decades-old offices on state property.

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Dupaco Community CU yesterday said it has reached an agreement to purchase a branch from East Dubuque Savings Bank, a local institution.

MURRAY, Utah – Utah Power CU has hired local contractor Big-D Construction to build a new home office, a two-story, 18,000-square-foot building.

LAHAINA, Hawaii – Valley Isle Community FCU is celebrating its new home in the Lahaina Business Park with a traditional Hawaiian blessing ceremony and a live radio broadcast this Saturday.

RICHLAND, Wash. – Gesa CU said it has completed construction of a 5,600-square-foot environmentally friendly branch in nearby Kennewick.

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia CU, which has been adding new branches, has purchased the former Hops Restaurant building in Henrico County.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Consonus, of Cary, N.C., and its data center relocation partner Hi-Tech Transportation, relocated 200 computer servers and other data center devices to ESL FCU’s new headquarters in just 12 hours last Saturday – returning one of the country’s largest credit unions to full operational status by Sunday afternoon.

RAPID CITY, S.D – In rare supervisory action, NCUA yesterday issued a cease and desist order directing Rapid City Telco FCU to halt construction on its new branch, near the presidential monuments Rushmore Crossing shopping center, or any additional fixed assets without NCUA approval because the $47 million credit union has exceeded the agency’s fixed assets rule.

OLYMPIA, Wash. – State chartered credit unions may dedicate branches to specific select groups with signs and other promotions, as long as they make clear the operation is a unit of the credit union, according to a new legal opinion issued last week by the Department of Financial Institutions’ Division of CUs.
