WALL STREET – NCUA is preparing its latest offering of corporate bailout bonds, this one $840 million worth of so-called NCUA Guaranteed Notes backed by commercial mortgage-backed securities. The latest offering will have two tranches, one a fixed-rate deal and the other floating-rate. The latest offering brings to more than $21 billion worth sold by NCUA since October, with some $5 billion more planned. The bonds are federally guaranteed. As a result, CU Solutions, which offers discounts on General Motors cars and Sprint cellphone services, will now offer discounts on Intuit’s TurboTax, Jackson Hewitt tax preparation services, Barnes & Noble books, DISH Network satellite TV, and other services offered through CUTS. Al the services will be delivered through Invest In America, which provides discount services through some 3,000 credit unions. CUTS will be full integrated with CU Solutions and its San Diego-based staff will be retained. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
