Ameriana in Indiana Enlarges Board

Ameriana Bancorp (ASBI) in New Castle, Ind., has enlarged its board.

The $443 million-asset company said Monday it has named Jennifer Bott, William McConnell Jr., and Michael Wells directors. The appointments expanded Ameriana's board to 10 members.

Bott, the first woman to serve as a director in the company's 123-year history, is an associate professor of management at Ball State University's Miller College of Business who is also assistant provost for learning initiatives at the university.

McConnell is the chief information officer of Indiana University Health. He previously served as chief executive of FlowCo, a start-up maker of medical devices, and held senior posts with Boston Scientific, Guidant and Resort Condominiums International.

Wells is the president of REI Investments, a real estate services companies based in Indianapolis.

All three directors "bring skills, perspectives and personal spheres of influence that will prove invaluable to the company as we continue to expand our presence in central Indiana," Jerome Gassen, Ameriana's chief executive, said in a press release.
