Gary Raddon, Founder of Raddon Financial Group, Dies

Gerald (Gary) Hollis Raddon, the founder of research and consulting group Raddon Financial Group – which was acquired by Open Solutions, Inc. in 2006 – died last week at the age of 72, according to a company statement.

The Utah native founded RFG in 1982, which later became a major consultancy in e-commerce guidance, including Internet banking, for institutions. At the time of the first Net-banking phase of the late ‘90s, Raddon was a major proponent of Web banking as an extension of bank operations, rather than a stand-alone entity and brand. He also was an early evangelist on focusing on younger generational demographics and the up-sell potential of online banking relationships.

“We are deeply saddened by Gary’s passing.  He was an inspiration, mentor and friend to us all,” said Bob Dye, RFG’s general manager and COO, in a statement. “Gary’s integrity, pursuit of knowledge and dedication to client service guide us still today.  With an uncommon ability to bring out the best in people, he created an organization which delivers value and solutions in a fashion befitting his name,” Dye added.

“We are all deeply saddened by the loss of Gary Raddon, a true industry visionary “Gary set a great example and he was admired by all those who knew him,” said Louis Hernandez, Jr., chairman and CEO of Open Solutions.
