Apriva, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based wireless-payments company, says it is working with MWJ LLC, an Atlanta-based vending-machine operator, on cashless vending services at 48 vending machines at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
MWJ says card payments at its machines have grown in the past couple years, accounting for 10% of all vending machine sales in 2008 and increasing to 18% in 2010. Cashless vending also reduces the need to collect cash from the machines and take it to the bank, MWJ says.
