French card issuer Prepaid Financial Services has partnered with Google to allow its customers in the U.K. to add their prepaid cards to the Google Pay mobile wallet.
The consumers' PFS virtual card payment credentials would stay stored in Google Accounts until users initiate a payment. It marks the first time PFS customers can link to Google Pay.

The arrangements with mobile payments providers allow PFS to continue pushing its prepaid products as vital in an increasingly cashless society.
"PFS has worked with Google to provide a convenient user experience in a growing digital world," Conor Doyle, PFS chief technology officer, said in a Friday press release. "We like to focus on speed, convenience and security."
Google Pay uses a virtual account number to represent account information as part of the wallet's security measures for services such as redeeming loyalty points, managing cards and receiving personal messages that save time and money.
"Customers don't have to remember all of their card details or fill out endless forms on their smartphone," Doyle added. "Now, they can pay with a few clicks and spend less time checking out."
PFS has e-money programs active in 25 countries and the ability to transact in 23 currencies, and the company says it will continue to develop a range of mobile payment and wearable solutions for quick integration into apps.
