Where staff are groomed for long-term career growth

Rocky Mountain Law Enforcement Federal Credit Union’s mission statement is: To provide members with an unparalleled experience. This philosophy permeates the organization.

“While the statement applies directly to members, we believe it also applies to our employees,” said CEO Christine Wiley. “In all circumstances, we value and respect our employees and appreciate the work they do every day to support our members that serve our communities.”

Rocky Mountain Law Enforcement FCU was ranked No. 21 overall in the Best Credit Unions to Work For 2018 and ranked No. 4 among CUs with assets ranging from $200 million to $500 million.

One of the reasons senior management understands employees’ wants and needs is because they were promoted from within the organization.

“We actively engage with each employee on a monthly basis to understand their career goals and we believe in internal advancement and promotions from within,” said Wiley. “Our entire management team has grown from more entry level positions to management level roles. Our most recent round of employee promotions included a teller that was promoted to a manager role.”

Employees are also encouraged to reach out to senior management on a regular basis to communicate ideas and/or concerns.

“We use an internal communication tool where employees check in weekly and can provide input to their manager, can acknowledge other employees with a ‘high five’ and generally can communication with any member of management in an informal way,” said Wiley. “This has been a tremendous tool to improve communication and engagement.”

Founded in 1938, Denver-based Rocky Mountain Law Enforcement Federal Credit Union supports three branches and more than 14,000 members with $222 million in assets.
