Fiserv in Brookfield, Wis., has agreed to buy the community financial services business of ACI Worldwide for $200 million in cash.

Federal Reserve Vice Chair Philip Jefferson said in a speech Friday that long-term productivity gains brought on by artificial intelligence could compel the central bank to maintain higher rates to keep prices stable.

Late payments, which have been on a steady rise since 2021, are now climbing at a slower rate or even declining at some major card issuers. Risks remain, but there's 'reason to be cautiously optimistic," one analyst said.

Hood, who chaired the National Credit Union Administration from 2019 until 2021, has been selected by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to serve as acting comptroller of the currency. Hood replaces acting OCC head Michael Hsu, who has led the agency since 2021.
